Schengen Visas A visa is issued for the purpose of a short stay (90 days) in Denmark and other Schengen countries.
Normally short stay visas issued by Danish missions abroad are valid for the entire Schengen region (Austria, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Sweden).A visa does not allow you to work in Denmark.
Processing timeIn some cases the visa applications can be examined and decided upon by the Danish Embassy, Hanoi. This depends on the purpose of the visit and certain other circumstances. In such cases the visa is normally issued within 10-15 working days. For applications filed at the Trade Office in Ho Chi Minh City, the delay will be four weeks (20 working days).All other cases must be referred to and processed by the Danish Immigration Service (DIS) in Copenhagen and the processing time can be long (approximately 12 weeks or more). PaymentAccording to the Executive Order on Payment for Services Provided by the Danish Foreign Service, a fee of Danish Crowns 450 must be paid when a visa application is lodged. The fee must be paid in Vietnamese Dong, according to the Embassy's internal exchange rate (currently 1.700.000 VND). The applicant receives a receipt and he/she is reminded that in the event of a refusal, the fee is not reimbursed.

Note: All documents must be legalized by the relevant authorities and translated into English. When visa is granted, air ticket and adequate valid medical travel insurance must be presented to the Embassy. Stays in multiple Schengen countriesAn applicant who wishes to visit several Schengen countries, but who plans to spend the longest time in Denmark, must submit his or her application at a Danish diplomatic mission. If the applicant wishes to stay for an extended period in several countries, he or she must apply for a visa at the diplomatic mission of the Schengen country where the visit is to begin.
How long is a visa valid?A visa to the Schengen countries is valid for maximum 90 days within a six-month period. Those 90 days may be spread across one or more visits.
RemarksApplicants are advised not to purchase airline tickets or travel insurance before diplomatic representatives confirm that the applicant is eligible for a visa. Important noticeAll Schengen visa holders must carry invitation letter, documentation regarding their travel insurance and documentation for sufficient means if necessary, when travelling to Denmark. Please take note that the Danish immigration authorities may reject entry to Denmark, if the visa holder cannot produce these documents on request.
